Nigeria’s U-17 side, Golden Eaglets\u00a0on Tuesday beat FOSLA Football\u00a0Academy\u00a04-0 in a friendly match played at the NFF\\FIFA Goal Project Pitch in Abuja.<\/p>\n

FOSLA Academy is owned by\u00a0Alhaji\u00a0Sani Lulu Abdullahi, a former\u00a0President of the Nigeria Football Federation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eaglets’ captain Kelechi Nwakali\u00a0scored a\u00a0first half brace with\u00a0a\u00a0clinical finish in\u00a0the 10th\u00a0minute and followed with a\u00a0well-struck\u00a0free kick\u00a0from\u00a0the edge\u00a0of the box five minutes later. Midfielder\u00a0David Enogela\u00a0grabbed the third goal\u00a0with a lively shot after\u00a0a through\u00a0pass from Nwakali.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other end,\u00a0FOSLA’s\u00a0Mustapha Kehinde saw his\u00a0free kick miss target by\u00a0the whiskers in the\u00a034th minute. In the\u00a040th minute,\u00a0Emeka Ebere scored\u00a0Eaglets’\u00a0fourth goal when he\u00a0cleverly\u00a0evaded his marker before slotting the ball behind goalkeeper Abddulazeez Yusuf.<\/span><\/p>\n

FOSLA Boys were in the thick of action in the second half and\u00a0Solomon Abraham\u00a0nearly\u00a0reduced the tally\u00a0in the 77th but saw the ball roll away after beating goalkeeper Abdallah Suleiman\u00a0as both sides battled\u00a0till the end.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Golden Eaglets showed some maturity\u00a0and I’m impressed with the team that played in the first half,”noted Peter Dedevbo, Head Coach of the U-20 Women National Team, who watched the encounter.\u00a0“From my experience, the Golden Eaglets can always get better as they build up towards the World Cup.”<\/span><\/p>\n
