The Management of the Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced a shift in date for the commencement of the Super Four Play offs.
The season ending tournament is to determine the over-all champions in the abridged four-division format of the League.
Secretary of the NNL, Lawrence Katken said the Super Four will now take place Friday, 27th through to Sunday 29th, November, 2015 as against the earlier scheduled period of 18th – 20th November, 2015 . Venue remains Abuja.
The reason, according to Katken, is to allow participating Clubs ample time to prepare for the Tournament.
“We received complaints from the clubs involved asking for an extension of time to enable them get ready and we saw the need to oblige them. We planned to round off the season before the Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Nigeria Football Federation, which will now hold in the month of December. It is okay by the NNL; we are still committed to organizing a befitting Super Four for our League.”
Lawrence Katken was quick to add that the NNL regrets the inconvenience(s) the development may cause participating Clubs, noting however, that the teams involved and their State Football Associations have been duly notified.
The qualified teams for the Super Four are:
1. Niger Tornadoes FC, Minna
2. Plateau United FC, Jos
3. Ikorodu United FC, Lagos
4. Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC, Lagos.
The teams are expected to arrive in Abuja on the 26th November, 2015.
