Abia Warriors and Dolphins FC were also bundled out.
Little –known Edo State club, BJ Foundation, had beaten Kurmi Market of Kano in the Round of 64 and then got the better of Sportlight FC of Katsina in the Round of 32. On Wednesday, they recorded perhaps the biggest triumph of their history by overcoming Heartland FC 3-2.
FC IfeanyiUbah defeated FC Taraba 4-2 at the Area 3 Playground, Abuja, and Abia Warriors fell 1-2 to fellow Glo Premier League team Nasarawa United in Oshogbo.
Remo Stars, who bundled out holders Enyimba FC in the Round of 32, came close to knocking out Lobi Stars, but lost 3-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The Ogun State club scored its goal 30 seconds into the match.
Plateau United, conquerors of Shooting Stars of Ibadan and Kano Pillars in earlier rounds, were thrown out this time, beaten by a lone goal by El-Kanemi Warriors in Minna. Akwa United overpowered Prime FC in Oleh, by the same 1-0 scoreline.
In Ado-Ekiti, Niger Tornadoes Feeders eliminated another top division club, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt 4-3 on penalties, after the 90 minutes ended 1-1.
